Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is an additional sum of money that is allocated to schools to support the learning of vulnerable groups of children. It is aimed specifically at supporting children who are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM), children looked after by the local authority and children of armed forces personnel. The intention of these funds is to increase progress and raise attainment. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium, allocated to schools per FSM pupil, is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
