Class 5 2018 - 2019

Mrs Eddie

Welcome to Year Five!

Class Information

There are 22 children in Year Five and the class teacher is Mrs Eddie.  Mrs De Ruiter teaches art on Monday afternoons.

Our Learning

Our topic in the Spring term is called 'How Britain Began' and we will be looking at how life in Britain developed and changed during the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.  More information about our learning can be found in the topic overview, which can be downloaded below.

Our topic in the Autumn term was called 'Is it right to fight?' and we learnt about WW1 and WW2.

Our key questions were:

* How did WW1 and WW2 start?

* What was life like in the Trenches?

* How were Rainow/Macclesfield affected by the wars?

* What is Remembrance Sunday?

* What was life like for an evacuee?

If you are looking for your next read then there is a list of fiction books related to both world wars here:
